Born in 1834 into a rising middle-class family, Morris attended private schools before studying at Exeter College, Oxford.First intending to become a priest,Morris, in the company of university friends Edward Burne-Jones and Charles Faulkner, found another vocation - that of artist and designer, and later, that of artisan and business person. Morris was driven by a conviction that art should be integrated into everyday life. the range of materials with which he worked included stained glass , furniture, wallpaper, textiles and books. as well as, more conventional drawing and print-making media. "
