Subject(s): Genre/Form: Summary: This exhibition owes its origin to the enthusiasm of Mr. Robert Frankel of the Phoenix Art Museum who first asked us to prepare it and to send it across the Atlantic. The plan came to fruition through the strongly expressed interest of the other. borrowing Institutions. The Victoria and Albert Museum contains, among its many riches, the national collection of British Watercolours and it is from this collection that the preesnt selection has been made. All the major artists are represented many of them by the museum's masterpieces, as well as some of the less well-known names which have been chosen both to provide a dimension of the unexpected and to ensure that different trends in British Watercolours are fully and clearly displayed.
