Subject(s): Cast: Patricia Gage, Douglas Campbell, Neil Dainard.Summary: During Larry Kent's prolific filmmaking career, he made two films in Vancouver, BC in 1964 and 65, SWEET SUBSTITUTE and WHEN TOMORROW DIES. This latter film continues with his theme of marriage and life as traps, and would complete his filming on the West Coast. The film opens in an affluential scenario: It is the portrait of a marriage where financial stability and social heirarchy are entrenched and, therefore, there are no acceptable clinical reasons for the dissolution of the marriage. The result is frustration at the partners inability to revitalize their relationship and their increasing isolationism. Subsequently both partners do their best to destroy their perceived (yet undiscussed) entrapment.
