Summary: In India a bioscope popularly referred to a wooden box containing pictures and having four circular peeping holes, therefore, bioscopewallahs are those people who operate the box accompanied by songs, stories and jokes. The subject of Kadam's short documentary is an eighty-five year old Dalit bioscopewallah, Rau Kisan Waghmare. Rau narrates in colloquial Marathi the story of his struggle for survival. His cheerful singing and gestures and his pride in the bioscope stand in contrast to poverty and failing health.
