When one of the men also staying at the resort injures himself on a hairpin that Emi accidentally dropped in the pool, she comes all the way from Tokyo to make her apologies. The man is a bit embarrassed by her show of attention; Emi herself, who has been bored with her lifestyle in Tokyo as a kept woman, feels this might be the right opportunity to rethink her future.
