Cast: Edmond O'Brien, Frank Lovejoy, William Talman.Summary: Roy Collins and Gil Bowen make a detour while going on a fishing trip to Mexico that turns into a nightmare. When the two men pick up a stranger, they discover that is Emmett Myers, wanted in several southwestern states for murder. Myers, a serial killer who murders people from whom he's hitched a ride, forces the two men to drive him deep into Mexico, where he plans his final escape for U.S. and Mexican authorities. Tight, well acted little melodrama and one of the best of actress Ida Lupino's directorial efforts. The film is rich in little details about place and character - the Mexicans are presented far less stereotypically here than they are many more highly regarded films. Lupino, in fact, always focused her attention on scripts that paid attention to realistic and natural details. A rewarding viewing for those interested in '50s noir like melodrama. With: Edmond O'Brien as Roy Collins, Frank Lovejoy as Gilbert Bowen, William Talman as Emmett Myers, Jose Torvay as Capt. Alvarado, Sam Hayes as himself, Wendell Niles as himself, Jean Del Val as Inspector General, Clark Howat as the Government Agent and Nativadad Vacio as Jose. Notes: Written by Ida Lupino and Collier Young. Produced by Collier Young.
