Cast: Featuring Kariya Naoji, Sugahara Ryūken, Kōkin Sobai.Summary: The film begins with scenes of the swordsmith Kariya Naoji and ends with his reciting a poem by Tokugawa Mitsukuni (1628-1700) about the Japanese sword. Alternating with scenes of his forging a sword and his dialogue with Li Ying are scenes of people in army uniforms paying homage at Yasukuni Shrine, an American in support of prime minister Koizumi, protest of descendants of Taiwan aborigines and Koreans who were deified as Yasukuni deities, young men protesting during a Yasukuni anniversary ceremony, etc. Near the end there are sequences of footage of the last world war. The film claims that the "body of the divine" (shintai) of Yasukuni Shrine is the Yasukuni sword.
