Summary: Series, 52 x 5 min, 2D animation, aimed at children aged between three and eight Each Tom story begins with our eponymous hero wishing he had a slice of bread with strawberry jam and honey, and ends with his wish coming true - even if he only gets half a slice. We follow Tom as he puts everything into his search, and join him in all manner of amusing adventures. Tom has lots of help along the way: in the form of his own curiosity, naivete and optimism; his friends; and not forgetting, the children watching at home. Author and director Andreas Hykade has created a magical world where logic meets confusion, the real world meets a world of dreams, and we see the funny side to the serious world of grown-ups. Mr. Hykade strikes a wonderful balance between the everyday and extraordinary, and this only serves to make the Tom stories all the more appealing. It only takes a few episodes to become familiar with Tom’s charming world, his friends, and all the routines kids enjoy so much. Tom’s inquisitive and adventurous nature means that he often encounters new characters and situations. Often, something unexpected happens, which leads to yet more fun, games and excitement.
