Summary: Leonard Maltin serves as host for this collection of animated features and shorts. He writes "When America entered WWII, Walt Disney's studio was transformed from a cartoon studio to a moviemaking factory for Uncle Sam." This collection includes a wide range of films and shorts made during the war some of which were entertainment with a political slant, others that were created with a very specific purpose. In one, the Seven Dwarfs tell a story to help sell war bonds, another supports the theories of Major Alexander de Seversky through the feature length propaganda film " Victory Through Air Power," with yet another depicting Donald Duck urging Americans to promptly pay their taxes. Interestingly, the majority of these animations were not created for public consumption, with many of them produced for training, morale, educational and propaganda films for the military. The collection also includes interviews with Disney administrators: Joe Grant, John Hench and Roy E. Disney.Summary: See never-before-seen Disney war effort productions, including exclusive declassified material, training, propaganda and educational films. Includes "Victory Through Air Power," Disney's 27th animated classic. First hand accounts of the work at Disney.
