Subject(s): Summary: From the jacket - "Basil Spence's fame as an architect is largely due to the world-wide attention which as been given to his designs for Coventry Cathedral, completed and consecrated in May 1962. In Phoenix at Coventry ( published in the autumn of 1962) Sir Basil has told us how he designed and executed the building. That book was rich in illustrations which enhanced the text; but the combinations of a volume primarily intended for reading and one which could do real justice to the size and inherent detail of the pictures, and indeed of the building, was hardily attainable with such inevitable limitations. this new book on Coventry Cathedral is complimentary to Phoenix at Coventry and is now able to bring the story up to date by including a complete set of photographs depicting the finished building, taken in the best possible conditions.
