Cast: Anne Teyssedre, Hugues Quester, Florence Darel.Summary: France's Eric Rohmer has been directing steady and strong since the 1950s and this 1990 effort is an example of how he can create an engaging piece using equal ingredients of humour, wit, and romance. The plot concerns a somewhat conniving teenage girl, co-existing with her father and her much-despised stepmother, and the events that take place after a chance meeting with an older woman at a party. Spring is the season for romance and Rohmer knows how to keep his audience tuned in, even when they will readily admit that they know what will happen.
