The plot concerns a somewhat conniving teenage girl, co-existing with her father and her much-despised stepmother, and the events that take place after a chance meeting with an older woman at a party. Spring is the season for romance and Rohmer knows how to keep his audience tuned in, even when they will readily admit that they know what will happen.
