A middle aged piano teacher of some repute, she is unmarried, living with her mother in a small apartment in Vienna, her days an unending round of conservatory students, rehearsals, and dinner in front of the television. Her sex life consists of visits to sex shops and voyeurism. When she becomes involved with a student who has become infatuated with her, she tries to share her obsessions with him--with tragic results.
