Eight items in portfolio, all loosely connected to women's issues and the word "jamilah", a kind of a code word in the Middle East in the mid-20th century for respect and a desire for freedom, taken from the Algerian martyr Jamilah Buhrayd, a member of the Fronte de Liberation Nationale who was executed by the french in 1957.
