520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. George Romero's "Dawn of the Dead" is widely considered to be The Best Zombie Movie Ever. Following his low-budget classic "Night of the Living Dead", Romero went on to "Dawn". As the living flee a city teeming with reanimated dead, four people - two soldiers, a helicopter pilot, and the pilot's reporter girlfriend - take refuge in a shopping mall where they believe they can take a stand against the zombie menace. This movie has flesh-eating zombies, exploding heads, bad-ass bikers, and some wryly amusing satire on consumer culture. Italian horror maestro Dario Argento helped Romero secure funding for "Dawn" in exchange for the right to edit the international cut of the film. 2005 Saturn Award winner for Best DVD Classic Film Release, Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA. --SD This version is Argento's 118 minute European cut and includes commentary with the four lead actors - David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott H. Reiniger, and Gaylen Ross.
