Documentary about the making of the unfinished 1964 film L'enfer, directed by Georges Clouzot. The film, about a man who becomes insane because he is convinced that his wife is having an affair, had an unlimited budget but was doomed from the beginning. Clouzot was demanding and indecisive; the production fell behind schedule; the lead actor, Serge Reggiani, walked off the set; and finally Clouzot suffered a heart attack. The documentary features interviews with key people involved with the production, and recreates some scenes using archival footage and contemporary re-enactments.

Board of Film Censors, Singapore: Unrated (Nudity and sexual references). BBFC rating: 15.
